Theoreically, marriage is only a legal contract acknowledging a living situation, so you can split the insurance when you separate. That's its legal purpose, and the legal meaning of the word is what's being debated lately-- I think the separation of Church and State is really damn great, myself. If you love someone enough to spend your life with them, I think why the hell not, because it offends someone else? Change something as close to you as the love of your life because other people can't handle it? I think it's great you guys are expressing such an unpopular opinion openly, by the way.
